The molecular formula is C7H8O, and the molecular weight is 108.14. It is a mixture of three isomers: ortho-cresol, meta-cresol, and para-cresol. Tri-methyl cresol is a colorless or yellow-brown liquid with a phenolic odor. It is slightly soluble in water and can be mixed with ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform, ethylene glycol, glycerin, and others. It is mainly used in organic synthesis and is a raw material for the production of surfactants, lubricants, synthetic material additives, dye intermediates, disinfectants, plasticizers, pesticides, and flotation agents.
Appearance: colorless or yellow-brown liquid with a phenolic odor.
